5 Reasons to Buy the DeWalt DWE560K Circular Saw
Posted by Toolstop on 1st Oct 2012
You’re in the market for a new circular saw, but like everyone else you’re researching the best one to buy. Toolstop is on hand to help you in the decision making process.
To that end, please see our Circular Saw Buying Guide.
We know some of you are fans of one brand of power tool over another, so this is for you DeWalt fans, and anyone else who is looking for a circular saw upgrade!
We took the DeWalt DWE560 circular saw and placed it in the hands of a highly experienced joiner/carpenter and bespoke kitchen fitter. We let him play with it for a while and he used it to do a variety of cuts, including some roofing joints, and then we asked him for his verdict.
5 Reasons to Buy the DeWalt DWE560K Circular Saw
1. Small, compact but very powerful
This circular saw is ideal for roofers. The small, compact size means you’ll be able to work in confined spaces, but the power of the motor (full spec below) will handle all the cutting tasks you throw at it.
2. Powerful dust blower
You need to see this in action, but the dust blower will be a real boon for you, particularly if you’ve been naughty and have been working without dust extraction.
A messy workpiece means it’s going to be hard for you to see your cutting line, however the blower powerfully clears the way in front of the DWE560K as you cut.
3. Good line visibility
Following on from the above, DeWalt is taking your cutting line visibility very seriously, just like you do. So they have engineered a cut-away blade guard which allows you to see the line from the side of the blade.
4. Airlock compatible dust extraction
DeWalt have engineered a new system for connecting your power tools to your dust extraction. It’s the DeWalt AirLock system, and the DWE560K comes with this feature as standard.
Essentially you lock the dust extraction hose onto your power tool, but the hose is still able to bend and swivel as you work, thereby preventing dangerous tangling of the hose, while at the same time guaranteeing maximum dust extraction.
5. Adjustable cord set
Another useful feature is the adjustable cord set. Power cords tend to break over time through use. This system, though, allows the cord to be either locked in place at an angle or free to rotate with the tool as you use it.
The system uses a tough sleeve over the part of the power cord that attached to the tool. This is, in turn adjustable, as described above.
It’s great talking about these tools, and our job is to make sure you know enough about them as possible before you decide which circular saw to buy.
But it’s also great to show you the tool in action, so check it out on Toolstop TV.
